Vergel M. Ritter

Vergel M. Ritter, 102, of Cavalier, ND passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Friday, October, 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services.
Vergel Ritter was born October 5 1917, at home, to Harvey and Flossie (Well) Restemayer.  She attended the Ruby Country School though 8th grade and went on to graduate from Cavalier in 1935.
Vergel married Roy Ritter on October 5, 1937 at Cavalier.  They resided in Crystal where Vergel did babysitting and also worked at Red Owl.  In 1947 they moved to Strathcona, MN where they farmed.  In 1953 they moved to the Seattle area.  Vergel helped manage the Trailer Court in which they lived. She also took in Ironing and did babysitting for extra income.  When not working she took many shopping trips into Seattle with friends.  Vergel and Roy also enjoyed many camping trips to Mt. Rainier. 
Roy and Vergel retired and moved back to Cavalier in 1984.  Vergel always kept busy making quilts, 100s of afghans and doilies.  Family, Friends and Church were very important to Vergel.
She is survived by her sister, Isabelle Sommer, Cavalier, and several nieces and nephews.
Vergel was preceded in death by her husband; Roy, parents; Harvey and Flossie Restemayer, and brothers; Stanley and Shirley.
