Lorraine A. Dennis, 92, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.
Lorraine Ann Mager was born April 19, 1927 in Walsh County, North Dakota the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Polkwinziki) Mager. She was raised on the family farm and was educated in Walsh County rural schools. Upon the completion of her education, she moved to Grand Forks and was employed as a waitress. Lorraine married Harry Lepak on April 20, 1945 in Grand Forks. Harry preceded her in death. She moved to St. Paul, MN and was employed as a seamstress. Lorraine married Howard Dennis on January 12, 1966 in St. Paul. Howard preceded her in death on May 23, 1981 and Lorraine moved to Vancouver, WA. Following her retirement in 1983, she returned to Grand Forks.
Lorraine was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. She enjoyed playing Bingo, dice and cards. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Abraham Lepak, Vancouver, WA, Donnie Lepak, Grand Forks, ND, Wayne Lepak, Colorado Springs, CO, Rick Lepak, Vancouver, WA; her daughters, Debra Lepak, Vancouver, WA, Lana Lepak, The Dalles, OR, Mona Rae Lepak, Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Effie (Warren Kirkeby), Grand Forks, ND, Jeanette (Mrs. Bill) Ekren, Grand Forks, ND; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; her husbands, Harry and Howard; her sons, Darwin “Lee”, Garry, James and David; brothers, Henry, Harry, Joseph, Clarian, Florian, John, Leonard; Alfred “Fritz” and Clarence; her sisters, Helen (Mrs. Florian) Maszk, Evelyn (Mrs. Robert) Buck and Irene (Mrs. Roy) Peterson.
Mass of Christian Burial: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks, ND.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service in the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday.
Interment: 1:00 p.m. Friday, June, 7 2019 in Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.

​William H. Teske, 93, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 4000 Valley Square-Woodside Village in Grand Forks.
William Harry Teske was born September 16, 1925, the son of Frank L. Teske and Martha F. (Osowski) on the family farm in Pulaski Township, Walsh County, North Dakota, where he was raised and educated. He attended a one room country schoolhouse and St. Anthony’s convent school in Warsaw. As a child, William loved riding his bicycle. At the age of ten he began playing the violin; during his youth he played a recital at the UND music conservatory. During the Depression, a time of limited harvest, he helped his family raise turkeys to make ends meet. Together he and his siblings would make their own fun, such as building high flying box kites.
William was united in marriage to Cecilia Marie Woinarowicz on October 11, 1949 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Stephen, Minnesota. As an adult, William enjoyed working the land; his farm was one of the first in the area to raise mustard and sunflowers. He farmed for over fifty years, initially with his father and brother, Richard. After his marriage, he farmed with his wife Cecilia on their rural Grafton farm until 1989. In 1997, William and Cecilia moved to Grand Forks. After retirement, William enjoyed riding and restoring Harley-Davidson motorcycles. At age 84 he took his last ride, going from Grand Forks to Hillsboro and back. From birth, William was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, North Dakota, and later a member of St. Michael’s in Grand Forks.
William is survived by his wife, Cecilia; daughters, Carol (Larry) Kuether, Jane (Terry) Powers, and Gail (Craig Hartenstein) Teske; son, Dennis F. Teske (Craig Baehr); daughter-in-law, Debra R. Teske; 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Richard; his sisters, Irene Teske and Severina Miller; his son, Donald; his great-grandson, Seth Kuether; his special niece, Lois Miller and his goddaughter/niece, Diane Teske.

Pearl M. Olafson, 88, of Cavalier, ND passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, ND.
     Pearl Martha Restemayer was born December 15, 1930 at Cavalier, ND to Mahlon and Alma (Walper) Restemayer.
     On July 25, 1948, she married Mundi Olafson at Cavalier, ND. Pearl loved spending time with her family and made many trips to New Jersey to visit them, she also looked forward to going to Ocean City every time she came to NJ. Pearl worked at Borg home for eight years and then started cleaning homes, which she enjoyed.
     She is survived by two granddaughters: Ashley Grant, her husband Mahlon and Amy Brown and her fiancé Bobby Blizzard all of Millville, NJ and a very special friend Margaux Lindsay of Cavalier, ND
     Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Mundi; daughter and son-in-law, Carol Olafson Brown and Ricky Brown; brothers: Glenn, Sterling, and Ernest; sister, Dorothy Pitcher.
      A memorial service will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m.at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Andvari Cemetery.

​Herbert L. Storie, 90, of Hensel, ND, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier, ND. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until the time of services on Wednesday.  Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Herbert was born February 2, 1929, in Rock, Kansas to Floyd and Nina (Wheeler) Storie. He grew up and attended school in Rock, KS. After school Herb enlisted in the United States Navy. After his discharge from the service he attended Electronics School in Kansas City, MO where he met Norma Green. On May 14, 1950, Herb married Norma in Kansas City. After their marriage, Herb worked for Land-Air throughout the United States. He then went to work for Western Electric at the White Sand Missile Range in New Mexico, Kwajalein Island, and Greensboro, NC. In 1972, Herb and his family moved to Cavalier where he worked at the Par Site. In 1979, Herb moved to Naperville, Il where he worked for Bell Telephone. After his retirement from Bell Telephone, they moved Wichita, KS, where he work for Lear Jet. In 1987, they returned to Hensel, ND, and made their home and served as Mayor of Hensel for eight years.
Some of the things he enjoyed were building and flying model airplanes and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children: Ron (Anita) Storie, Cavalier, ND; Colleen (Tom) Tuma, Orangeville, Il; and Charles (Karen) Storie, Sachsenheim, Germany; grandchildren: James Storie and Brian (Viktoriia) Storie; great-granddaughter, Sophie Katrina Storie; siblings: Bill Storie, Hazel Clary, John Bulman and Robert Bulman.

​Thomas David Moller, 61, of Drayton, ND passed away on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019 at his home in Drayton, ND. He was born on June 26th, 1957 in  Rugby, ND to Thomas and Gwendolyn Moller. He grew up in York, ND where he was the youngest of three children. Tom had a great sense of humor often prank calling friends pretending to be the police. He was quick to laugh with everyone around him.
In 1980, Tom graduated from NDSU with a BS in Agriculture. After college he joined the US Peace Corp Volunteers and was assigned to the  Philippines. He served as an advisor for the Regional Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives from 1980 to 1984. It was at this time he met his wife, Mamar, whom he married in 1984. He then found a job with US AID-AFRICARE, in Zambia Africa. Tom worked as a Provincial Cooperative Advisor from 1984-1986. In 1985 their oldest daughter Vanessa was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Africa. Following her birth their second daughter Valerie was born in 1986 in Cebu City, Philippines. After both children were born the family then moved back to North Dakota.

He found a job with Walhalla State Bank as an Operations and Compliance Officer. After 5 years he moved his family to Montrose, MN and was employed by Waverly State Bank. In 1997 the family came back to North Dakota and Tom took over the family business, Moller’s Incorporated, until the business closed in February 2014. From 2014 to 2016 he served as the President at Affinity First Federal Credit Union, in Minot, ND. After working in Minot, Tom moved to Cavalier and was employed by Cavalier State Bank Midwest as an Operations and Loan Officer. He later, was transferred to Koda Bank in Drayton to serve as a Loan Officer.
 
Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who would do anything to help anyone. He believed in family and community involvement. He was a Firefighter and EMT volunteer. Tom served as a President for the City of York, ND Park Board, Secretary of  York Community Betterment Association, a member of Minot Lions Club, and Heart of America Medical Center, Board of Trustee, Rugby, ND.

Tom is survived by his wife, Mamar and 2 children: Vanessa Johnson of San Diego, CA and Valerie Crane of Fargo, ND. Two grandchildren: Emmett  Johnson and Capri Crane. A brother, Greg (Deb) Moller of Leeds, ND and a sister, Peggy Folkert of Kansas City, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Gwendolyn Moller.

A visitation is scheduled at Austin Funeral Chapel for Friday, May 31st from 5:00 pm – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. The funeral  service is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11:00 am in New Life Assembly of God, in Drayton, ND with a reception to follow. Pastor Leroy  Aufenkamp will officiate the ceremony. The cremated remains will be buried at York Cemetery and will be arranged later by the family.

LORRAINE C. (MATTSON) OLSON, 90, of Drayton, ND passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by her loving family.
Lorraine was born June 3, 1928 in Grafton, ND to Torbiesand Sophie (Arnesen) Mattson. She was raised on the family farm west of Drayton, ND. She was baptized and confirmed at the Grafton Lutheran Church. Lorraine attended the Mattson Country School and also attended high school in Grafton and Grand Forks, ND.

Having been raised on the farm, Lorraine never lost her love for the harvest season. Through the years she could be found driving beet and potato trucks for many farmers in the area. She also was employed at American Crystal for many years.

Lorraine loved the life that she and her husband Harris shared. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time and sharing her many talents with family. It was rare to leave her house without at least a few jars of pickles and jellies that she and Harris canned every fall. Each Christmas her grandchildren looked forward to her homemade goodies and lefse. Family gatherings were centered around her delicious meals, which most often included mashed potatoes and her legendary gravy. Lorraine loved crocheting afghans for her family. She was a wonderful piano player. On birthdays, family looked forward to her call when she played the piano and sang "Happy Birthday" over the phone. She also looked forward to singing and playing music with her siblings. Lorraine and Harris loved their summer place at Rocky Point. They especially enjoyed fishing and socializing there with friends. Lorraine was a great sports fan and loved cheering loudly for her favorite teams - the Minnesota Twins and Sioux Hockey. Lorraine's enthusiasm for life and her many talents will be missed by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life for Gary T. Jergenson of rural Park River, ND will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River.
Gary passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.
Gary was born June 4, 1951 to Elmer and Beatrice (Novak) in Park River. He married Shirley Jelinek on July 9, 1977 and they had one son, Carey. He attended the Walsh County Agricultural School and following his education, began farming with his father and brother John. He also worked at Simplot of Park River.
Gary had a passion for gardening and friendships. He took pride in his vegetable gardens and invited his friends to garden on his land. When it would be a holiday or just a scheduled gathering, he always enjoyed bringing a potluck dish. Gary had many lifetime friends. He grew up in one of Park River’s historical homes next to the swimming pool where he gained bragging rights for his full gainer jump and being able to walk on his hands. He enjoyed years of being an angler with a fish house he invested in with his friends.
Gary is survived by his son Carey, Roseau, MN; sisters: Audrey (John) Johnson of Park River, ND, Marlene Swenson of Minto, ND, Eileen (Richard) Johnson of Park River, ND as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, and brother-in-law Allen Swenson.

Theresa Ann St. Claire, age 75 of Grafton, North Dakota passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks.
Theresa Ann St. Claire was born May 23, 1943 in Belcourt, ND, the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Beston) St. Claire.  She attended school in Dunseith, ND.  She worked at San Haven and Dunseith Nursing Home until moving to Montana.  She then moved to Minot with her family where she worked maintenance for a property management company.  She then moved to Park River in 1999 and was a caregiver to her grandchildren and did seasonal work.  Theresa moved to Grafton in 2011 where she continued to make her home until the time of her death.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a member of the Turtle Mountain Tribe.  She loved spending time with her family, gave great advice, enjoyed making people smile, loved to tell a good joke and was always willing to lend a hand when needed.  She enjoyed fishing, old country songs, playing cards, Bingo, camping, gardening, baking and bead work.

​Arnola G. Evje-Skorheim, age 85 of Park River, ND, passed away on May 16, 2019 at her home.
Arnola was born September 24, 1933 in Adams, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Syvert and Greta (Jacobson) Bjorg.  She graduated from Adams School in 1951.  Arnola attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for two years.  She worked for the Saint Paul Insurance Company in Fargo, ND.  Arnola married Jack Evje April 23, 1955 in Adams, ND.  Arnola and Jack made their home in Fargo for 34 years.  After Jack died, Arnola worked for the J.C. Penney Company.  In December 1993, Arnola married Dennis Skorheim and they made their home in Park River, ND. 
She was a member of Chapter Q PEO, Adams American Legion Auxiliary, Adams Kraft Klub, Republican Women, Red Hat Society, and Hoff Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Susan) Evje, Cranston, RI; Brent Evje, Fairdale, ND: grandchildren: Brendan, Eric, and Kelsy Evje; Dennis’ children: Denny, Denise, Mary, Rita, Deb and their families; sister-in-law: Ardyce Holte, Halstad, MN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Jack Evje and Dennis Skorheim, and sister, Janyce Haugen.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church, Adams, ND.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 5-7:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River.  Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be Thursday, May 23 at Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, ND.

​Evelyn P. Flaten, age 89 of Park River, ND passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Evelyn Flaten was born June 7, 1929 in Golden Township, Walsh County, ND, the daughter of the late Alfred and Myrtle (Anderson) Flaten. She grew up and attended school near Park River, graduating from the Walsh County Agricultural School. She then attended Concordia College in Moorhead for a year. She was united in marriage to Marvin Flaten on February 14, 1949 in Crookston, MN. The couple farmed in Latona Township of Walsh County for 7 years. They then moved to Park River and started Flaten Construction. They also owned and operated the Northside Grocery for 7 years. Marvin passed away on November 30, 2000, and Evelyn continued to make her home in Park River until the time of her death.
She was a member of the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church and WELCA of Park River. She enjoyed knitting with the ladies from the church as well as for the Pregnancy Help Center of Park River, china painting and oil painting.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Larry (Christine) Flaten, Park River, ND, Douglas (Sharon) Flaten, Williston, ND, Don Flaten, Park River, ND and Maren (Sam) Harki, Anchorage, AK, daughter-in-law Caren Flaten, Anchorage, AK; grandchildren: Shiloh (Jeremy) McDonough, Blake Flaten, L.J. Flaten, Maggie Hepokoski, Zack Flaten, Matthew (Haley) Flaten, Andrew Flaten, Adam (LuAnne) Harki and Cameron (Stephanie) Harki; 9 great grandchildren; siblings: Alda Donahue, Los Angeles, CA and Paul (Leota) Flaten, Santa Monica, CA, sister-in-law Judith Engelmann, Grand Forks, ND as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Jeanne, son Randall, grandson Christopher Flaten, 5 brothers and 1 sister.
Memorial services will be Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church of Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery of Park River. Memorial donations are preferred to the Park River Bible Camp.
