​​Don Murray, 68, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, at his home in rural Cavalier. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Baptist Church, Cavalier. Visitation will be held Friday, April 21, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  with a 6:45 time of sharing at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND.
Donald Wayne Murray was born April 1, 1955, to Robert and Frances (McEwen) Murray in Altona, Manitoba. Donny was proud of his dual citizenship.
Donny attended and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1973. He furthered his education at NDSCS studying to be a mechanic. Donny often spoke about at an early age how he would work for area farmers. He like his dad could fix or operate any equipment of any kind, which he passed on to his son Joe. He had a passion for the land and what it could produce. Donny attended the Cavalier Baptist Church.
In June of 1976 Donny married Kathryn Sargent. Donny adopted Angel and Jason, and together they had Joseph Robert in May 1977.
On February 14, 2009, Donny married Michelle Hardy. This past year they celebrated their golden anniversary, 14 years on the 14th.
Donny worked for and managed Murray Bean Plant and other bean plants in different areas. He then worked for Hamilton Systems for 17 years, retiring in 2021. Donny spent his retirement working with Joe in the cattle, farming, and enjoying time with family.
Fishing with Joe and the grandkids on Father’s Day, or with Diane and Ron in the boat or on the ice was something Donny enjoyed so very much.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; son, Joe (Steph); daughter, Angel; grandchildren: Lexi (Cody), Joey, Devi, Jaxon, Dylan, and Brooklyn; sisters: Kathy (Bruce) Redanbaugh, Diane (Ron) Schillinger, Judy (Jim) Maurer, and Patty (Mike) Ahern; brother and sisters-in-law: Gary (Faye) Hardy, Joe (Norine) Hardy, John (Becky) Hardy, Todd Hardy, Brenda (Bob) Mitzel, and Rita (Brian) Visser, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Jason; grandparents, and mother and father-in-law.

​Leonard E. Urlaub, 91, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla. Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla.
Leonard E. Urlaub was born in the Langdon-Osnabrock area at the farm home of his parents, George & Blanche (Beauchamp) Urlaub. The family moved to Leyden and later near Svold. He attended several rural schools, including the Svold school. He went to Cavalier High School one year, then continued at Park River Agricultural School, after which he was employed by local farmers. On December 22, 1953, he was united in marriage to Jessie Belanus. They lived near Hensel and Mountain until December 1956 when they purchased the Mobil Service Station in Walhalla. Later, he opened several businesses there, joined many of the civic organizations and was especially active in Knights of Columbus.
 Some of his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, golf, bowling, playing pinochle, spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid fan of football.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Jessie, sons Martin (Laurie) Urlaub, West Fargo; Joel (Sandy) Urlaub, Walhalla; Grandchildren: Samantha (Thomas) Johnson, Walhalla; Marcus (Malissa) Urlaub, Christopher (Nikki) Urlaub, both in Bloomington, MN and Nicholas (Marissa) Urlaub in Grand Forks; Great Grandchildren: Jaxon Suedel & Mckenna Johnson; Camille & Jack Urlaub; and twin boys soon to arrive; Siblings: Leona Bielinski and Wayne (Kris) Urlaub in Washington State; Delores Kenny, Chicago; Mercedes Hayward, Florida; and Karen Cavallaro, Arizona; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters Lorraine Vivatson, Elaine Cook, Anna Mae Saunders and brother George Urlaub. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery at a later date.

​Lucille Eyrikson, 87, of Walhalla, ND, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Pembilier Nursing Center in Walhalla, ND.  Memorial serivice will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Walhalla Lutheran Church, Walhalla, ND. Vistitation at the church on Friday from noon until the time of services.
Lucille Marie Schwartz was born January 20, 1936 in Beaulieu Township to Alvin
and Pamelia (Dumas) Schwartz. She grew up in the Walhalla area and attended Walhalla Public School.
Lucy married Magnus Eyrikson on December 30, 1958 at Walhalla, ND. She was a daycare provider for
several years as she loved spending time with little children and said that the children brought in the
sunshine-especially her two grandchildren. Lucy was a member of the Walhalla Lutheran Church and
taught Sunday School for several years; she especially enjoyed helping with the quilting projects and
making lefse and volunteering with church upkeep. Lucy was a member of the Walhalla Order of the
Eastern Star and held several offices throughout the years. As a homemaker, she loved to cook delicious
meals and enjoyed canning and baking breads, vienerterte and pies. She and Magnus enjoyed making
lefse together. Lucy spent a lot of the summertime gardening and tending to her flowers and yard.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Elsie (Larry) Grossman, Northwood, ND; grandchildren, Corey
Grossman, Fargo, ND and Rachel (Casey) Smith, Grand Forks, ND, several nieces and nephews and sister-
in-law, Lavonne Schwartz. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Magnus, who passed
in 2006; her parents; brothers, Richard, Raymond, Alex, Gilbert and Rolland and sisters, Alnoria Kalis,
Angeline Kalis and Loretta Roppel.
