 Terri Ann Leddige, 71, of Emerado, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Terri was born June 16, 1950, in Oakes, ND, the oldest daughter of Tom & Lee (Klipful) Bjornstad. Her parents owned and operated Bjornstad cafe, laundry mat and later a woman's fashion store named after his girls, Terri Lee Fashion. After winning the title of homecoming queen, she graduated from Oakes High School in 1968. She continued her education at NDSU with a degree in textiles and after graduating in 1972 she made her way up to Grand Forks. Most remember her from her time at Stevenson's & Braun's in the Columbia Mall where she helped numerous husbands pick out the perfect outfit for his wife. All you had to say was you were so and so's husband and you were out the door package in hand. She later switched out clothes for money becoming the vault teller at US Bank. She enjoyed all of her customers and helping anyway she could. She finally retired in 2016 so she could spend more quality time with her husband, daughter and grandchildren. Terri married the love of her life, David Leddige, on October 12, 1974. They recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Dave & Terri settled on his family's farm in rural Emerado and were blessed with one daughter, Kylie. "Mother" as Dave loved to call her, enjoyed the farm life, often helping in the field, gardening and eventually loving the pool she argued for years she didn't want. She enjoyed hosting family and friends and everyone often commented about how at home she made you feel. You were always met at the door with a smile and she would stand outside waving as you drove off. She was the BEST mom but she truly found her calling with the title, Grandma, to Rylan & Rylee. Terri's love of flamingos trickled down to her grandson. They would be found "planting" them on Good Friday, finding the perfect spots for them around the pool and flower beds or searching for the perfect new "mingo". Terri is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Kylie (Todd) Tanke of Grafton; grandchildren, Rylan & Rylee; brother, Tom (Mary) Bjornstad of Oakes; sister, Toni (Brent) Ptacek of Oakes; sisters-in-law, Shelly Leddige and LaRae Leddige of Grand Forks; brother-in-law, Mike (Linda) Leddige of Beaverton, OR and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom & Lee; parents-in-law, Earl & Maxine (McGrath) Leddige; numerous aunts & uncles. Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND, with visitation/family greeting from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at Bellvue East Cemetery in Larimore, ND.

 The world lost a beloved mother Janet Jacqueline (Radke) Burns on November 23, from Covid. Janet was born February 1, 1939 in Grafton to Theodore August Radke and Margaret Hjortun (Samuelson) Radke of Crystal ND. She lived and went to school in Crystal until the age of fifteen, when tragedy took her father in a hunting accident. Janet and her mother then moved to Grafton until she graduated from high school in 1957. She attended Mayville College. She was united in marriage to Michael Kiley in 1957. In 1976 Janet married Teddy Burns, Teddy past away in 1983. Janet often remarked her children and grandchildren were her greatest treasures, she showered them with love and positivity at every opportunity.
Janet loved the Lord, and his people. Her joy and laughter were infectious. Janet spent countless hours at the Pregnancy Help Center and the Saint Gianna’s Home, spreading Gods love to all. Janet is survived by her children, Margaret (Tony) Torsu, Michelle Colson, Melissa (Greg) Andreen, Michael (Dianne) Kiley. Grandchildren; Elizabeth Grover, Heather Dumas, Rebecca Burkham, Andrew Coryell, Adam Johnson, Ryan Brown, Kyle Votava, Zakk Kiley and 14 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her beautiful life will be Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at the Grafton Assembly of God Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the church. Friends may also at the church on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Crystal Memorial Cemetery, Crystal, ND. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to the Pregnancy Help Center in Park River or St. Gianna’s Home in Warsaw, ND.  Edward Kuchar, 89, of Fairdale, ND, passed away November 12, 2021, at his home.
Edward John Kuchar was born December 9, 1931, to Stanley and Mary (Karsky) Kuchar on the home farm north of Edmore, ND. He attended Highland School and then spent the rest of his life devoted to farming. Starting at the age of 16, Ed farmed the family land, and after he ‘retired’, he continued to work at the Fairdale Elevator and helped local farmers during harvest. On October 8, 1993, Ed married Grace (Monson) Samson in Devils Lake, ND. Ed retired from farming in 1993 and moved from the home farm to Fairdale where he and Grace still resided. Ed enjoyed repairing machinery and was innovative at doing home repairs. He also liked to go fishing, especially his trips up to Canada. Ed was an accomplished curler, and he and his team won four state senior men’s curling championships. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, was a past member of the Farmers Union board, and was township treasurer for many years. He was very active in St. Edward’s Church, including being a reader, serving as treasurer, helping with the cemetery, or doing maintenance at the church. Ed was also the mayor of Fairdale for 25 years. Surviving Ed are his wife, Grace, of Fairdale, ND; siblings: Stanley Kuchar, Mary Warvin, George Kuchar, Jim Kuchar, Pat (Jonathan) Connelly; sisters-in-law Vivian Kuchar and Jessie Kuchar; many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; step-children: Mark & Kelly Johnson, Darcy & Dave Jeffrey, Joette & Ken Zola, Trent & Fiona Samson; his beloved grandchildren: Jer & Betsey Johnson, Chelsey & Chris Lewis, Jake & Kristen Johnson, Ian & Isaac Jeffrey, Jess & Nate Zola, Ilsa, Laryn & Eliana Samson; and great-grandchildren: Ezra Johnson and Henry & Chuck Lewis. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister & brother-in-law Fran and Ernie Swanson, and brothers John and Laddie. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Nekoma, ND. Inurnment will be at St. Edward’s Cemetery in Nekoma, ND, followed by a life celebration at the Pain Reliever. Pfannsmith, age 64 of Fordville, North Dakota passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at her home in Fordville.
Debra L. Senf was born June 12, 1957 at St. Ansgar’s Hospital, Moorhead, MN, the daughter of Leon and Carmen (Hoff) Senf. She graduated from Fordville High School in 1975. Debra was united in marriage in 1975 to Dale Sluke. The couple lived in Wahpeton and after several years in the Fargo area, they moved to Fordville. Debra was united in marriage to Clyde Pfannsmith on July 14, 1990 in Fordville, ND. The couple made their home in Fordville. Clyde passed away on January 31, 2014. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Debra liked to be the life of the party and could strike up a conversation with anyone. She loved cooking, fishing, hunting and spending time at the lake. Debra is survived by her parents, Leon and Carmen Senf, Fargo, ND; children: Deanne Sluke, West Fargo, ND; Dustin Sluke, Fordville, ND; granddaughter, Jolynn Trieglaff, West Fargo, ND; step-children: Kristy (Eric) Pfannsmith-Knapp, Elgin, SC; Bonnie Freije, Edmore, ND; Joanie (Will) Rossow, Flasher, ND; step-grandchildren: Ashtin, Fallyn, Morgan, Sabrina and Abagale; siblings: Jackie Senf, West Fargo, ND; Gwen (Dennis) Zelfer, Scenic, SD; Kyle Senf, Fargo, ND. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde and grandparents: William and Hattie Hoff and Otto and Gladys Senf. Per Debra’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Graveside services will be Monday, November 15, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, ND. Everyone is invited for a time of lunch and fellowship following the graveside service at the Fordville American Legion.  Lavonne R. Morrison, 86, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the St Brigid of Ireland Catholic Church, in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, November 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Faith in Action, Cavalier Ambulance, or the Pembina County Memorial Hospital all of Cavalier.
Lavonne R. Horgan was born May 13, 1935, at Neche, ND to Shanley and Zoe (D’Heilly) Horgan. She grew up at Neche where she attended school. On October 1, 1951, she married Wallace Morrison at Neche. After their marriage they lived and farmed in the Bathgate, ND area. Lavonne enjoyed knitting washcloths, playing cards, bingo and going to the casino. She is survived by her children: Alice (Lloyd) Amundson, Harwood, ND, Mary Roy, Langdon, ND, Wayne (Cathy) Morrison, Bathgate, ND, Judy (John) Sharwarko, Warrensburg, MO, Barb Humphreys, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren: Mike (Brenda) Nordstrom, Jason Nordstrom, Chris (Trista) Bitz, Jennifer (Mark) Busse, Amy Morrison (Kade Coles), Marcus (Rachel) Morrison, Danny McFadden, Brian McFadden (Christa Johnson), Brent (Jessica) Humphreys, 17 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and sister, Mary Alice Brimmer. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Wallace, grandchildren: Cody and Sara Humphreys, sons-in-law: Randy Humphreys and Danny Roy, and siblings: Anna Mae, Charlene, and John.  Sandra J. “Sandy” Humphries, age 77 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home in Grafton.
Sandra J. Severtson was born March 22, 1944 in Drayton, ND the daughter of the late Theodore and Arlein (Burger) Severtson. She grew up in St. Thomas. She was united in marriage to Rusty Humphries on October 3, 1968 in Grafton. The couple made their home in Grafton. Sandy worked as a cook at the Grafton Developmental Center for over 16 years. She is survived by her sons: Blaine (Aniela) Humphries, Chugiak, AK; Corey (Christine) Humphries, Anchorage, AK; grandchildren: Adam (Tahneta) Stroh, Bryce Humphries (Dianne Collins), David Humphries (Hanna Dickinson), Tielyr Ritnour, Hailey, Parker and Hudson Wills, Lauren and Samantha Humphries; great grandchildren: Landon and Lillie Stroh and Isaac Humphries; her siblings: Cynthia (James) Luedtke, Lincoln, NE; David (Ann) Severtson, St. Thomas, ND; and Vernon Severtson, Pembina, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jerry and an infant son. Memorial Services will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Thomas City Cemetery, St. Thomas, ND. |
