Sidney S. Dvorak

​Sidney S. Dvorak, age 98 of Grafton, ND and formerly of Minto passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton.
Sidney S. Dvorak was born April 17, 1921 near Veseleyville, ND the son of the late John and Mary (Sobolik) Dvorak. He attended rural school near there. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Air Corp, serving as a waste gunner on the B-17 Bomber. Following his discharge in 1944 he returned home and worked on the Pete Flaten Farm. Sidney was united in marriage to Godfrey Votava on June 17, 1946 in Veseleyville. The couple made their home there until moving to Minto in 1961. He worked for the Walsh County Highway Department for a few years and in 1962 started as a rural mail carrier for the Minto Post Office, retiring at age 67.  Godfrey passed away in August of 2012 and in November of 2016 Sidney moved to Leisure Estates in Grafton.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto, the Minto American Legion, served as President of the Minto School Board and President of the Minto Senior Citizens. He was an active member of the Fair Oaks Golf Club in Grafton as well.
Sidney is survived by his children: Linda (Paul) Lemiux, Grafton, ND; Loretta (Ross) Kringlie, Bozeman, MT; Conrad (Lorraine) Dvorak, Quincy, IL; Sidney John (Judy) Dvorak, Minto, ND; Timothy (Cori) Dvorak, Grafton, ND; Kevin (Beth) Dvorak, Bismarck, ND; daughter-in-law, Lori Dvorak, Gillette, WY; Joel (Becky) Dvorak, Sheridan, WY; Allan (Carolanne) Dvorak, Bismarck, ND; Kim (Cathy) Dvorak, Bismarck, ND; 33 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons: Dean and Randy; three brothers and three sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
