Shirley R. Erickson

Shirley R. Erickson, age 80 of Grafton and formerly of Hoople, ND passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND.
Shirley R. Gehrls was born July 13, 1939 in Warren, MN the daughter of the late John and Clarice (Lean) Gehrls. She grew up and attended school there. Following her education she worked at Tillie’s Drive-Inn. Shirley married Gale Erickson on July 11, 1959 in Warren, MN. Shortly after their marriage Gale was called into military service. Shirley moved to Washington when Gale got assigned there. Following his discharge the couple moved back to Warren. They lived in Minnesota until 1973 when they moved to Cavalier, ND. In 1985 the couple moved to Hoople where they resided until Shirley moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home.
She is survived by her husband, Gale of Grafton, ND; sons: Dale (Carol) Erickson, Manitoba, David (Teresa) Erickson, Grafton, ND; Danny (Julie) Erickson, Mandan, ND; Don Erickson, Alaska, Dennis (Violet) Erickson, Grand Forks, ND; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 2:30 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Hoople City Cemetery, Hoople, ND.
