Mary Beth Marciniak

​Mary Beth Marciniak, 64 years, 11 months passed away at peacefully at her home in East Grand Forks, Minnesota on Wednesday, February 5, 2020. 
 
Mary Beth Rasmussen was born March 19, 1955 to the late John and Donna (Chester) Rasmussen in Grafton, North Dakota.  She was raised in Grafton until the family moved to their farm in rural Drayton in 1969.  Mary Beth graduated from Drayton High School in 1973.  She later attended college at NDSSS in Wahpeton, North Dakota.  Following school, Mary Beth was employed at the North Dakota State Highway Department and Lindblad Upholstery in Drayton.  She was united in marriage to David L. Marciniak October 4, 1975.  The couple was blessed with two children to whom she dedicated her life.  The couple made their home in Drayton where she held various jobs in the area as well as farmed with her husband.  Mary Beth owned and operated MB Ceramics and volunteered her spare time to many organizations such as the Girl Scouts and held office as Schumacher park board president.  Mary Beth and David moved to the Twin Cities area in 2001 where Mary Beth served as a call center representative for Centerpoint Energy, winning many awards for outstanding service.  Mary Beth was a dedicated family woman who valued her own with a passion that only her love of God surpassed.  In spite of suffering her entire adult life with debilitating illnesses, her faith in Christ never faltered.  Her greatest joy was her grandchildren who defined her later years. She took great pride in being “Granny”.  Mary Beth was a great cook, homemaker and friend.  She always had beautiful flower gardens and meticulously decorated homes.  She took great pride in her surroundings.
 
She is survived by her dedicated husband, David; children, Jed (Melissa) and Jennifer; her beloved grandchildren, Wyatt, Emma, Carson, Walker and Waylon; a sister, Susan (Troy) and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Donna Rasmussen and a sister, Jill Marie.
 
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in Drayton Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Grafton City Cemetery.  Rev. Gary Johnson, presiding; Shirley VanCamp, Karen Schumacher and Lisa VanCamp will provide special music.  Casket bearers will be Andy Kirkeby, Tom Silewski, Todd Peterson, Christian Lange, Chase Lange, and Troy Lange.  Visitation will be held at Austin Funeral Chapel in Drayton on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
