Mary Ann Lindell, age 92 of Fairdale, ND passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center. Mary Ann Mielke was born November 15, 1929 near Brownton, MN the daughter of the late Lester and Rose (Luedtke) Mielke. The family moved to Grafton, ND when Mary Ann was five. She grew up and attended school in Grafton, graduating from Grafton High School in 1947. Following her education she worked at her parent’s café “Lil Grand” and later worked at the Grafton National Bank. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Alfred Walter Lindell on December 4, 1949 at Grafton Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Grafton for three years. In the fall of 1955 the couple purchased a farm between Adams and Fairdale. They moved to that farm in the spring of 1956 and have lived there since. On June 4, 2018 Mary Ann moved to the Park River Good Samaritan Center. Mary Ann was a member of the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and WELCA, the Adams Kraft Klub and the Gideon Society. She loved to sing, sew, cross stitch and tend her flower and rock gardens. Her true love was spending time with her family and would teach a willing child or grandchild a craft. She is survived by her husband Alfred of 72 years, her children: Paige (James) Buckeye, Montpelier, ND; Tamara (John “Buzz”) Lunde, St. Thomas, ND; Suzanne (Garlen) Haroldson, Woodbury, MN; Grant (Sandra) Lindell, Adams, ND; Jana (Allan) Berube, Perham, MN; Tena (Glen) Scharmer, Grafton, ND; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Loren) Kadlec, Grand Forks, ND; 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; siblings: Norma (Theodore) Kotyk, Brainerd, MN; Charles (Rita) Mielke, Edinburg, ND; Jon (Carol) Mielke, Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law, Larry Gorder, Olympia, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, A.Gray Lindell, a great granddaughter, Elle Nicole Scott, sister, Marlene Gorder and brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Lila Mielke. Funeral services will be Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams in the spring. The family requests that those attending the service please wear a mask.
