Luella McLaren

Luella Ann McLaren, 91, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Luella was born May 20, 1927, in Park River, ND, the daughter of Anthony “Joe” & Ella (Scheving) Charon.  She grew up and attended school in Park River.
She married Walter “Scottie” McLaren June 24, 1945 in Park River.  Together they raised 4 children, living in Park River, Cooperstown, Larimore and Grand Forks.
Luella worked for the Stevenson’s and Diana Hughes Clothing stores for many years as a clerk.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, listening to country music, reading, and spending time with family and friends.  She loved traveling around the US, Acapulco and Puerto Rico. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and the GF Elks and Eagles Clubs.
Luella is survived by her children, Lois Williams of Tampa, FL, Lana (Dale) Bjerstedt of River Falls, Larry McLaren of Grand Forks, WI; grandchildren, Richard Williams Jr., Lisa House, Lisa (Ron) Boles & Lucas Bjerstedt; great-grandchildren, Rory, Kalli, Angel & Holly; feline friend, Missy and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Lynda; sisters, Ida & Violet and son-in-law, Richard John Williams.
Funeral Services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Calvary Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church.
Interment will be immediately after the service at Memorial Park North Cemetery in Grand Forks, followed by a luncheon at the church.
