Kyle Evan Watts, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, of Drayton, was called to Heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, at the age of 35, after sustaining injuries in a car accident. Kyle was born on Sept. 11, 1987, to Kevin and Cindy Watts, in Cavalier, ND. He graduated from Drayton Public School in 2006. He loved to play basketball and his favorite subject in school was mathematics. He raced quads in 2004 and 2005 and won awards for his efforts. After Kyle turned 21 he worked at the Drayton Lounge for his parents and continued working at Johnny Bravos part time after the business was sold. He enjoyed all his customers and would help anyone who was in need. He worked at MCI in Pembina for three years and drove beet truck for Christianson Farms every fall. He loved to golf, curl, and play darts and was a loyal Vikings and NDSU Bison fan. He met the love of his life Megan Kalka in 2015. They spent seven years together and had two beautiful daughters, Everly “Peanut” and Hadley “Haddie Rue” who he adored. He always did what he could to ensure their happiness. Kyle loved his family and friends and cherished every moment with them. He had a heart of gold and a generous spirit. He was constantly looking for ways to help others. To him there were no strangers, only friends. He made an impact on every person he met through his kindness, generosity, and humor. He is survived by his daughters, Everly and Hadley; the love of his life, Megan Kalka; parents, Kevin and Cindy Watts, all from Drayton; sister, Amber (Kelly) Largent, Hamilton; brother, Dayne Watts, Grand Forks; grandmothers, Gladys Bader and Judith Watts; grandfather, Ed Letkemen; nieces and nephews, Aleah, Tucker, and Jameson. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Gale Watts. Roy T. Bennett wrote, “Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness of people.” Kyle lived his entire life being the reason for others to believe in the goodness of people. He will be missed by many who cherished his authenticity and grace filled character. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Drayton Public School gymnasium, Drayton, ND with visitation for one hour prior to services.
