Kenneth E. Bjornson

Kenneth E. Bjornson, 83, passed away on October 6, 2020 at his home in Grand Forks, ND.
Kenneth was born on October 23, 1936 in Mose, ND, the son Sophus & Irene (Melland) Bjornson.  Kenneth grew up in the area and attended schools in McHenry, ND.
He was united in marriage to LaVonn A. Hovel on February 22, 1959, in Cooperstown, ND.  Together they raised 3 children.  They lived in Cooperstown, Hannaford, New Rockford and Park River before making Grand Forks their home in 1986.
Kenneth worked many jobs all over the state.   He worked on a farm, drove semi truck, drove greyhound bus, worked as a painter, worked on oil rigs and helped paint missile silos.  Kenneth and LaVonn also attended AVTI together where they learned the art of truck driving. They later drove trucks as a team.  He retired in 2006 as a driver with Trans-systems.  
He enjoyed gardening, caring for his flower beds, riding horses and tinkering in the shed.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, LaVonn; daughter, Roxann (Randy) Johnson; son, Mitchell (Leslie) Bjornson; grandchildren, Brandon(Paige) Bjornson, Brittany (Davis) Bjornson and Benjamin (Jaden) Bjornson; brothers, Dennis, Ronald and Gerald; sister, Louan (Dale) Vigen; sister-in-law, Carolyn Bjornson and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Frankie; sister, Janice Mastre and brother, Glen Bjornson.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2:30 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. Grand Forks, ND.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral service at Amundson’s.
INTERMENT:  Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
