John William O’Toole

John William O’Toole, age 42, of Grafton, ND, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Unity Hospital of Grafton, ND.

John William O’Toole was born January 17, 1980, in Cavalier, ND, the son of Lawrence and Shirley (Vavrovsky) O’Toole. John attended and graduated school in Cavalier, ND. Following his education he moved to Grafton, ND, where he was employed through Friendship Inc. at Select Inn, Pamida/Shopko, and was currently working at All Season’s Laundry.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Grafton Kiwanis.  John enjoyed bowling, 80’s music, camping, tubing, dancing, making others feel happy and loved spending time with family and friends.

John is survived by his mother, Shirley O’Toole, Grafton, ND; siblings: Connie (Lynn) Johnson, Grafton, ND; Lori O’Toole (Vicki Yamamoto), Los Osos, CA; Michael (Jorie) O’Toole, O’Fallon, MO; Janet (David) Foerster, Grafton, ND; Nancy (Joel) Mueller, Dardenne Prairie, MO; Paul (Sherry) O’Toole, Crystal, ND; Mary (David) Hanson, Colorado Springs, CO; Diane (Dan) Johnson, Hoople, ND; David (Brandy) O’Toole, Grand Forks, ND. John was a very proud uncle to 26 nieces and nephews and 15 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, and grandparents, Robert and Margaret O’Toole and Bert and Mary Vavrovsky.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 26, 2022, at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the church. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Crystal, ND.  The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Friendship of Grafton and Unity Medical Center for the excellent care John and family received over the years. In lieu of flowers the family would suggest memorials to Friendship of Grafton, 554 West 12th Street, Grafton, ND 58237; St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, % St. Brigid's Catholic Church, 201 West 1st Avenue South, Cavalier, ND 58220; or the Unity Medical Center Foundation, 147 West 13th Street, Grafton, ND 58237.
