Jerome L. “Jerry” Daley, age 74 of Grafton, ND went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Altru Hospital of Grand Forks. Jerome L. Daley was born on February 24, 1948, to the late Ralph and Violet (Charon) Daley in Grafton, North Dakota. He was raised on the family farm near Hoople. Jerry attended school in Park River and graduated from the Walsh County Agriculture School. After graduation, Jerry worked for the local Red Owl, before he was called to serve in the United States Army. He served in during the Vietnam War Jerry was united in marriage to Delores Amann on August 12, 1977 at Zion Lutheran Church of Hoople. He worked for the Development Center for 35 years, as a tech programmer. Jerry loved to hunt and fish and was loyal Minnesota Vikings fan. He loved attending the activities and sporting events of his great grandchildren and when he wasn’t able to attend, he was sure to get a play by play afterwards. He was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He was also a life member of the Park River American Legion Post, VFW, AMVETS, Vietnam Veterans of America, International War Veterans Alliance, and Military Order of the Cootie. Through the 50 years of service to these incredible organizations, Jerry served in many leadership roles and was a proud member. Jerry will be dearly missed by his wife of 45 years, Delores; children: Gwyn Jacobson, Grafton, ND, Gary (Sandy) Johnson, Polver, WI, Ivan (Debbie) Johnson, Grand Forks, ND, and Kevin (April) Johnson, Grafton, ND; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild; siblings: Ellen Arnold, Paul Daley, Glenn (Vonnie) Daley, all of Grafton, ND, Steve Daley, Park River, ND, Nadine (Ronald) Dolan, Gilbert, AZ, Dennis Daley, Grafton, ND, and Elaine (Steve) Mattson, West Fargo, ND; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Richard and David Daley. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Hoople, ND. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 23 from 5-7 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Wednesday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Military Rites will be provided by the Park River American Legion Post and the ND National Guard Honor Guard.
