Jeanne Marie Silewski, 75, of Grafton, ND passed away on Tuesday, August
15, 2023 at the Lutheran Sunset Home in Grafton, ND. She died from health complications of her liver and kidneys with her brother by her side. Jeanne Marie Silewski was born July 29, 1948 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Drayton, ND. She grew up on the family farm next to the Red River where she enjoyed playing on the hills, helping her Mother bake and gardening. She graduated from Drayton High School in 1969. After graduation she moved to Grand Forks, ND and was a nanny for a family and lived with her Aunt and Uncle, Doris and Wallace Harris. After a few years she moved to Grafton to her own apartment and worked at the Lutheran Sunset Home for several years. She started her own Daycare in Grafton and was able to watch several children grow through the years. Upon retirement she remained in her apartment and enjoyed life and visits home with her Mom and Dad most every weekend. Jeanne enjoyed visiting on the phone with her many friends and family, collecting any kind of angels and cats, phone shopping, looking forward to the next Avon order and reading books about her Catholic religion and the saints. She entered the Lutheran Sunset Home in the fall of 2018. She loved and enjoyed living there with the wonderful staff and residents. She especially enjoyed playing bingo and collecting the tokens to shop in the Bingo Store. Jeanne especially enjoyed the wonderful staff at the Lutheran Sunset Home and the love and care she received. The staff shared with her brother many Jeanne stories and jokes she came up with which was appreciated. Jeanne is survived by her brother, Thomas Paul Silewski of Stephen, Minnesota, her brother-in-law, Christopher Loveless of Grand Forks, ND, nephews Brett (Alexandra) Loveless, South Orange, New Jersey; Travis (Desiree McGoven), Vancouver, Washington; and Cory (Katie) Loveless, West Fargo, ND; Great-nephews Noah Harvey Loveless and Wesley Christopher Loveless. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Joseph Silewski and Irene Bolduc Silewski, her infant sister Nancy and sister Linda Silewski Loveless. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic Church, Grafton. Interment will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Stephen, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to services on Saturday.
