Janice M. Wysocki, age 82 of Minto, ND passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Unity Hospital of Grafton, ND from a rare form of cancer. Janice M. Phelan was born September 5, 1938 in Walsh Centre Township, ND the daughter of Jerome and Rodell (Morris) Phelan. She grew up and attended school in Minto and later attended Aaker Business College in Grand Forks. Janice was united in marriage to Leonard “Sonny” Wysocki on November 26, 1956 in Minto, ND. The couple made their home in Minto where Janice worked for a time as farm labor, beet truck driver, ceramic teacher, staining and wallpaper business and in the greenhouse at Grafton Floral. Janice was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society in Minto, the Minto American Legion Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society of Grand Forks. She loved to g arden and work in her flower beds. Her flower beds were her pride and joy and added much beauty to their yard. She was an excellent seamstress and made many prom dresses and favorite pajamas for all her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, embroidering, reading and doing the crossword every morning in pen. Her biggest joy was her family. Janice was always happiest with her house full of her children and grandchildren. She was a mom/grandma that made it to every event possible whether it was a sporting event or a dance recital. She will be greatly missed. Janice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leonard, Minto, ND; her children: Len (Janet) Wysocki, Grafton, ND; Brian (Sheri) Wysocki, Minto, ND; Shelly (Gary) Syverson, Bismarck, ND; Sharlene (Randy) Knutson, Erskine, MN; eight grandchildren: Corey (Chelsea) Wysocki, Andrew (Samantha) Wysocki, Ethan Wysocki, Erin & Abby Syverson, Jake Knutson, Kelsey (Austin) Tadman, Jaycee Knutson; great grandchildren: Graycie, Zaiden & Emma Wysocki, and Grayson Wysocki. Janice was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerald and sister Clariss. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Minto. Visitation will be from 9:00 – 10:30 A.M. at the church. Covid-19 restrictions of up to 50 people will be followed and face masks are required. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Minto, ND.
