Irene Rosalie Lindgren, age 80, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Park Manor in The Woodlands, TX. Irene was born November 21, 1939 in Grafton, ND the daughter of Steve and Elizabeth (LeClerc) Silewski. She attended Grafton elementary and high school. She went to college at NDSU in Fargo, ND. In her twenties Irene moved to Milwaukee, WI where she worked as an administrator and did some modeling for the Green Bay Packers and Vince Lombardi. While in Milwaukee she met and married Robert S. Lindgren. Irene enjoyed being a mom and homemaker. After their first daughter Maria was born they moved to Flint, MI where they had two sons, Marc and Matthew. They moved to Pennsylvania then to Washington, IL where their second daughter Machelle was born in 1971. In 1972 they relocated to Newton, IA for 11 years then to Houston, TX where she stayed until 1989 when she divorced Robert and moved back to North Dakota to help take care of her parents before they passed. In 2017 Irene’s kids moved her back to The Woodlands, TX to take care and be close to her in her later years. Irene enjoyed her garden, cooking, canning, sewing and being a mom. She loved planning yearly trips to see the country and share these adventures with her family. She said that these were her favorite years of her life. She was a devoted Catholic and donated to Mary Knoll Fathers since she got her first job as a teenager. She instilled this faith in her family. Irene was proceeded in death by her father Steve Silewski, mother Elizabeth(LeClerc) Silewski, brothers Chester and Stephen Silewski. Irene is survived by her sister Joyce (Mike) Gierszewski, her children Maria Linza, Marc Lindgren, Matthew (Amiee) Lindgren, and Machelle (Tom) Piazza and 9 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Oakwood. Visitation will be for one hour prior at the cemetery.
