Geraldine I. Lipsh

Geraldine I. Lipsh, age 67 of Grand Forks, ND passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Larimore Good Samaritan Center.

Jeri was born October 20, 1954 in Moorhead, MN. She resided with her parents, Mary C. and Jerry Hodny, SR. at a farm near Lankin, ND. She attended school in Lankin until her marriage to Donald Lipsh in 1970 at Fordville, ND.  In 1978 she moved to Grafton where she married Gilbert “Poncho” Sandvig. She studied for her GED and started her LPN training in East Grand Forks. Jeri worked many jobs in her life, but there were only two she enjoyed. The first was the Developmental Center in Grafton and the second was when she managed the Hillcrest Golf Club in Park River.

Jeri enjoyed camping with family, spending time with friends, her grandchildren and her great grandchild. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and canning her vegetables out of the garden. She will be remembered for her kind and loving heart.

She is survived by her children: Christopher (Sharon) Lipsh and Nicole (Nathaniel) Matt both of Grand Forks, ND; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters: Maryetta (Keith) Nelson, St. Thomas, ND; Christy (Lee) Ruzicka, Fordville, ND; Paula Johnson, Circle Pines, MN; Teresa (John Fitzpatrick) Malone, Minneapolis, MN; brothers: JerryTom (Mary) Hodny and Mike (Jacqui) Hodny, both of Lankin, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Diana Chandler, grandchildren: Adam & John Lipsh (AKA Tater and Tot) and her special friend, Steven Hovde.

Memorial services will be Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral home of Grafton. Visitation will be from 12:00 -2:00 PM at the funeral home.
