Gary T. Jergenson

A Celebration of Life for Gary T. Jergenson of rural Park River, ND will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery of Park River.
Gary passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.
Gary was born June 4, 1951 to Elmer and Beatrice (Novak) in Park River. He married Shirley Jelinek on July 9, 1977 and they had one son, Carey. He attended the Walsh County Agricultural School and following his education, began farming with his father and brother John. He also worked at Simplot of Park River.
Gary had a passion for gardening and friendships. He took pride in his vegetable gardens and invited his friends to garden on his land. When it would be a holiday or just a scheduled gathering, he always enjoyed bringing a potluck dish. Gary had many lifetime friends. He grew up in one of Park River’s historical homes next to the swimming pool where he gained bragging rights for his full gainer jump and being able to walk on his hands. He enjoyed years of being an angler with a fish house he invested in with his friends.
Gary is survived by his son Carey, Roseau, MN; sisters: Audrey (John) Johnson of Park River, ND, Marlene Swenson of Minto, ND, Eileen (Richard) Johnson of Park River, ND as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John, and brother-in-law Allen Swenson.
