Delia Escobar, 86 passed away on June 2, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Delia was born on January 5, 1936. She was the first born to Jose and Julia Uvalle in Arshington TX. She attended school in Carrizo TX. She was raised by her maternal grandparents Maria and Pedro Guerrero. Delia loved to share with her children the many fond memories of her grandparents, being taught the "Word", by her grandmother and how she was abundantly spoiled by her grandfather. On March 5, 1957 Delia and Ricardo Escobar were united in marriage. They moved to North Dakota where they raised their 5 children. Delia had a love for gardening. After a hard day at work she could be found in her multiple gardens. She enjoyed spending her free time having coffee and conversation with her compadres - Lee and Lupe. Delia was the Sunday dinner host to her extended family members that lived in the area for many years. Mostly she loved spending time with the love of her life Ricardo and listening to him sing to her. Grandma Delia enjoyed embroidering and crocheting. She made many quilts for her family through the years. Delia loved her children dearly and when the grandchildren started arriving she found a new love. She was a hand’s on grandmother and would play WWE wrestling on the floor or challenge the kids to a good video game. The grandkids didn't have to ask twice for anything, she would have their special treat or meal made in a heartbeat. Delia is survived by her four daughters; Anna Delia (Ramiro) Salazar, Maria Alicia Escobar, Annette (Yogi) Skaro, Debra Lee (Shane) Miller, daughter-in-law Marlys Escobar, Viola Reckard; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her little brothers and sisters; Estevan Uvalle, Delfina Espinosa, San Juana and Adolfo Flores, Jose Luis Escobar, Ernesto and Rosa Aguilar and many bonus daughters and grandchildren. Delia was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ricardo and their son Jesse. Funeral services w will be Monday, June 6, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Inurnment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
