Darlene A. “Holly” Adamsen age 76, of Grafton, ND passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Darlene Angela Humble was born August 30, 1944 in Cando, North Dakota, the daughter of the late Howard and Frances (Mitzel) Humble. She graduated from Cando High School and attended Cosmetology School in Devils Lake. She moved to Grafton and worked at Verna’s Beauty Shop. Darlene was united in marriage to Alan Adamsen on October 14, 1966 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She worked for Grafton Public School in the kitchen and Swirl and Curl. In 1985, Darlene purchased Verna’s Beauty Shop along with partners Larae Osowski and Joyce Anderson. The couple moved to Bismarck in 2010 and back to Grafton in 2015 to retire. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Altar Society, taught CCD, chaired fall suppers and Christmas Eve parties. She was very talented and loved her hobbies of baking, cooking (wedding cakes), sewing, quilting and crafts. She loved her family dearly and always made sure they were all taken care of. Darlene is survived by her husband of 54 years, Alan Adamsen, Grafton, ND; her children: Craig (Denise) Adamsen, Grafton, ND; Heath (Anna) Adamsen, Grafton, ND; Angie (LeRay) Paulson, Bismarck, ND; Nicole (Brian) Jacobson, Bismarck, ND; grandchildren: Britney, Kayla, Kelsey, LaTesa, Shane, Charlie, Logan, Austen and Donovan; 15 great grandchildren; siblings: Margaret, Lois, Vincent and Vernon and her mother-in-law, Lolly Adamsen, Grafton, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, Charles “Bob” Adamsen, sister-in-law, Judy Henning and nephew, Patrick Humble. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held.
