Dale August Niswonger, age 63 of Warsaw, ND passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Dale leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 31 years, Mardell; his children: Jeremy (Collette) Adamsen, East Grand Forks, MN; Mandi (James) Robinson, Valley City, ND; Jason (Katie) Klava, Warsaw, ND; his grandchildren: Alex, Max and Jax Robinson, Davis and Dex Adamsen, Trevor and Trenton Klava and Adrien Charboneau, his mother; Isabel Niswonger, Minto, ND; siblings: Bill (Gloria) Niswonger, Walker, MN; Mariette (Melton) Flores, Rogers, AR; Gary Niswonger, Warsaw, ND; Peggy Niswonger, Minto, ND and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Dale was the 5th of 7 children born to Clarence and Isabel (Gerszewski) Niswonger on November 19, 1957 in Grafton, ND. Dale took his place as youngest brother seriously and in a family that considered quick wit a must, and saracasm a competitive sport, he surpassed us all. He graduated from Minto High School in 1976. From there he traveled the world while in the US Navy. He then worked for McCann Farms,Torks Polski Dom, Gudajtes Farms and Triple D Construction. He also owned and operated a business of his own known as Dale’s Small Engine Repair. Dale couple always be found in his shop with a diet Mountain Dew in his hand and a cat on his lap visiting with his many cherished friends. In 1990 he married the love of his life, Mardell Mattson. Together they created great memories and stories for their three children and later eight grandchildren. Dale was fluent in sarcasm and wit. He had many hobbies and loved spending time outdoors. Whether he was fishing or tending to his garden and trees he was content. He was known for his legendary 4th of July parties. Dale was happiest when he was with his family. He took advantage of every opportunity to create new memories with the people he loved the most. Dale truly did love life. He was real, he was the laughter and joy, the hope and absolute essence of our family, the baby brother, the confidant, consoler, keeper of secrets and giver of light and wisdom-he was the heartbeat of this family. That evidence is the deep sorrow and pain in our hearts that his family feels from his passing. He is now reunited with his father Clarence, his sister, LuAnn Jacobson, infant brother John and grandson Izaya and his grandparents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw, ND. Friends may call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Minto, ND. Military rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion and the US Navy Honor Guard.
