Bruce David Kjelaas

Bruce D. Kjelaas, 69, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Bruce was born December 14, 1951, in Walsh County, ND, the son of Vincent  & Ione (Rundhaug) Kjelaas.  He grew up in Adams, ND, and graduated from Adams High School in 1969.
After high school Bruce lived in Crookston and Grand Forks, working different jobs.   He married Martha Bauer in Mentor and together they raised one child, Kristina Norberg.  He later married Renee Plante in Grand Forks on June of 1990.  They made their home in Grand Forks.
Bruce worked 25.5 years for the ND-DOT as an equipment operator, retiring in 2013.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, driving the country-side, and being adventurous by scaring people with his all-terrain expeditions.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Renee of Grand Forks; daughter, Kristina Norberg of Fosston, MN; step-children, Ben (Jamie) Maygra of Grand Forks, ND, Megan Maygra of La Center, WA; grandchildren, Kaydn, Karlie, and Jossilyn Norberg; step-grandchildren, Hannah, Brady, Bryson Maygra and sister, Vickie Mahnke of Grand Forks; mother-in-law, Cecilia Plante of Crookston, MN and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Dennis Plante and brother-in-law Harold (Bud) Mahnke.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at Amundson Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
