Ann “Mickey” Shaver, age 66 of Lakota, ND and formerly Grafton, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Home of Lakota after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ann Michelle Scharwark was born October 8, 1952 to the late Agnes (Jesienouski/Twedten) and George Scharwark in Grafton, ND. She was raised and attended school in Grafton. In 1977, she married Charles (Chuck) Shaver and they resided in St. Thomas, ND. From this union, 2 children were born, Angela and Jason. Ann worked for the public schools, Lutheran Sunset Home, and Granny’s Restaurant. She loved to volunteer at Second Time Around. Ann loved ceramics, needlework, and word searches, time with family and friends, and cats. Ann is survived by her sister, Trudy (Marcel) Sabourin, Grafton, ND; sister in law: Sharyn Twedten, Charleston, SC; nieces: Darcy Sabourin, Grafton, ND; Tricia (Ryan) Campbell, Bluffton, SC; Cathy Twedten and Tara Twedten, Charleston, SC; nephew: Joe (Jennifer) Sabourin, Fargo, ND; great nieces: Temre Campbell and Mia Campbell, Bluffton, SC; Emery Sabourin and Ava Sabourin, Fargo, ND; several cousins also survive. She is preceded in death by her parents, her children: Angela and Jason, her brother Jerry Twedten, nephew Austin Sabourin. A graveside service will be Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the St. Thomas City Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the local Humane Society.
