Alfred Walter Lindell

Alfred W. Lindell, age 94 of Fairdale, ND passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023 at First Care Heath Center of Park River.
Alfred Walter Lindell was born March 11, 1928 in Golden Township, Walsh County, North Dakota, the son of the late Peter Arthur and Anetta (Stenerson) Lindell.  He grew up in Golden Township and graduated from the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River.  Alfred was united in marriage to Mary Ann Mielke on December 4, 1949 at Grafton Lutheran Church.  The couple lived in Grafton for three years. In the fall of 1955 the couple purchased a farm between Adams and Fairdale. They moved to that farm in the spring of 1956 and have lived there since.
He was a member of the Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and the Gideon Society.  He enjoyed spending time with children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed going to the lake in his later years with his family.  He liked hunting and fishing.
Alfred is survived by his children:  Paige (James) Buckeye, Montpelier, ND; Tamara (John “Buzz”) Lunde, St. Thomas, ND; Suzanne (Garlen) Haroldson, Woodbury, MN; Grant (Sandra) Lindell, Adams, ND; Jana (Allan) Berube, Perham, MN; Tena (Glen) Scharmer, Grafton, ND; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Loren) Kadlec, Grand Forks, ND; 27 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, brother George Lindell, Edinburg, ND.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Ann Lindell, son, A. Gray Lindell and great granddaughter, Elle Nicole Scott.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Mountain Lutheran Church of Adams, ND.  Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River.  Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams in the spring.
