A Grafton police officer and suspect shot around Midnight Friday in Grafton According to the Grafton Police Department the shooting happened at around 11:56 p.m. Friday. Officers of the Grafton Police Department and the Walsh County Sheriff’s Department attempted to arrest a suspect on an outstanding Federal Warrant. The suspect fled on foot and while doing so, fired several rounds at law enforcement officers. An officer with the Grafton Police department was struck by Gunfire. Officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect who was also shot. The officer and suspect were initially transported to Unity Medical Center in Grafton and then transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. The names of the officer shot and the male suspect are not being released at this time. The condition of the two was not immediately known.
