Wilma O Gemmill

Wilma O. Gemmill, age 80 of Edinburg, ND passed away on Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Park River Good Samaritan Center.

Wilma O. Momerak was born May 20, 1939 near Park River, ND the daughter of the late Vilhelm and Odelia (Dahl) Momerak. She attended school in Park River. Wilma married Gordon Gemmill on November 24, 1956 in Park River, ND. The couple lived on the Gemmill Farm near Edinburg until 1958 when they purchased their own farm. The couple lived and farmed near Edinburg until 2004 when they moved into town. Wilma cooked at the Amundrud Café and the Borg home in Mountain, ND. She later did home care in Arizona, California and Walhalla. Gordon passed away on December 28, 2011. Wilma moved to the Good Samaritan Center in November of 2019.

She was a member of the Grace Free Lutheran Church and WMF. She started the Women’s quilting group at Grace Free. She was a member of the Edinburg American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Karen (Bruce) Langerud, Gardar, ND; Linda (Leslie) Moe, West Fargo, ND; Mary (Kent) Laxdal, Edinburg, ND; Betty (LeRoy) Nelson, Edinburg, ND; Barbara (Chris) Kendall, Milton, ND; Ron (Jeanette) Gemmill, Edinburg, ND; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, siblings: Ordean (Darlene) Momerak, Minot, ND; Leonard (Adele) Momerak, Grafton, ND; Bernice (Ed) Pengilly, Langdon, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jason Kendall, great grandsons: Jayden Nelson and Curtis Matthew Laxdal; brothers: Harvey and Wally and sister, Donna Evenson-Mertens.

Memorial services will be Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 2:30 PM at Grace Free Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Odalen Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
