![]() Theodore A. “Ted” Kerian, age 84, of Minto, North Dakota passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Theodore A. Kerian was born March 9, 1940 in Grafton, North Dakota, the son of the late Fred and Henrietta (Osowski) Kerian. He graduated from Minto High School and enlisted in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he attended Mayville State University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Education. He moved to Florida and worked as a welder and sales. He returned to Minto where he began working for his dad at the family business, Kerian Water Softener, eventually running the business. Ted was united in marriage to JoAnn Hoiseth on December 26, 1982 in Crookston, Minnesota. The couple made their home outside in rural Minto where they raised their family. Ted retired and started hobby farming. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto, ND and the Iron Workers Union. He loved being with his family and staying busy. He enjoyed working, outside, on vehicles and equipment. Ted is survived by his wife, JoAnn Kerian, Minto, ND; his children: Alicia Kerian, Grafton, ND; Michael Kerian, Minto, ND; his siblings: Patricia Herbel, Bismarck, ND; Virginia (BJ) Brazil, Fargo, ND; Winnie (Carl) Zeamer, Richland, WA; Dorette Kerian, Bloomington, MN; Helen Kerian, Fargo, ND; Larry (Pat) Kerian, Fargo, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Stefanie Ann (1983), nephew Steven Kerian and niece Michelle Marie Zeamer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 14, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Minto, ND. Visitation will be on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Rites will be provided by the Minto American Legion Post #201, the Grafton American Legion Post #41 and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
