![]() Peggy Ann Niswonger, age 62, of Minto, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Valley Senior Living Center in Grand Forks, ND. Peggy was born on June 16, 1962, in Grafton, ND, the daughter of the late Clarence and Isabel (Gerszewski) Niswonger. She graduated from Minto High School in 1980 and received her bachelor degree in teaching from Minot State University. She started her teaching career in Peerless, Montana, and then taught in Fort Benton, Montana, Pocatello, Idaho, and Yuma, Arizona. Peggy moved back to Minto in 2009, and most recently lived at Tufte Manor Care Facility in Grand Forks. She worked for the State School for a short time and then for Altendorf Trucking until her health started to decline. Peggy was a member of Degree of Honor and Benefit Bridge Club. Peggy is survived by her brother Gary and sister Mariette (Melton) Flores; sisters-in-law, Gloria Niswonger and Mardell Niswonger; nieces and nephews: Chad Niswonger, Jonathan Niswonger, Melissa Yeakley, Megan Flores, Marlee Flores, Jason (Katie) Klava, Jeremy (Colette) Adamsen, Mandi (Jamie) Robinson, and her nephew Scott’s wife, Anita Niswonger. She is also survived by her godson, Gregory Korynta, her aunt, Betty Novak, several cousins, great nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; sister, LuAnn Jacobson; brothers, Dale, William, and infant brother John; and her nephew, Scott Niswonger. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Minto, North Dakota. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the service. Inurnment will be at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Minto, North Dakota, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Degree of Honor Scholarship Fund.
