Myrna Greenwood, age 80 of Grafton, ND passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Unity Medical Center of Grafton. She was born September 30, 1940 in Langdon, ND to the late Francis and Burness (Henderson) Larson. She was raised in the Calvin area and graduated from Calvin High School. Myrna attended Mercy School of Nursing in Valley City, ND graduating with her Registered Nursing degree. Myrna married James Greenwood on August 5, 1961 in Devils Lake and they made their home in Grafton. Myrna worked at the Grafton Clinic and Unity Hospital, but retired from nursing serving homecare and hospice families. She was a recipient of 50+ years of nursing award. Myrna continued her nurturing and caretaking into retirement by volunteering at Lutheran Sunset Home, the Walsh County Food Pantry, Unity Hospital Auxiliary, and St. John’s Catholic Church. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Her favorite role was grandma and great grandma, which she took incredible pride in. Myrna was known for her baking, especially lefse, and loved to quilt and sew. Myrna is survived by her children: Jaymes Greenwood, Cass Lake, MN and Jacqueline (Kit) Midgarden, Hoople, ND; grandchildren: Rebecca (Adam) Chyle, Mason City, IA; Bryan (Ashley) Midgarden, Hoople, ND; and Brenna (Michael) Bigwood, Fargo, ND: great grandchildren: Jackson and Clara Chyle. Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, husband James and brother William Larson. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 9, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Masks are recommended and social distancing guidelines will be followed. Inurnment will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials go to Unity Medical Center of Grafton.
