![]() Margaret R. (Roe) Woods, age 86 of Forest River, ND passed away peacefully at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton, ND on Thursday, February 6, with her loving family by her side. Margaret was born on June 16, 1933, in Medina, ND. The daughter of the late Sig and Loretta (Meade) Roe. She graduated from Forest River High School in 1951 and attended Aakers Business College in Grand Forks. She moved to Billings, Montana and returned to Forest River to marry her high school sweetheart, Jack, on July 30, 1955 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ardoch, ND. They made their home in Forest River, ND. Margaret was an active member of St. John’s Altar Society until the church closed. She was a member of the Forest River Legion Auxiliary, serving as treasurer for several years. She worked for Morwood Grocery and was the relief clerk at the Forest River Post Office for several years. Our mom loved people, having the “Gift of Gab”, but her deepest love was her faith, her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was our biggest cheerleader and rarely missed an opportunity to attend her children and grandchildren’s events. She was also well known for her delicious brownies!! Margaret is survived by her children: Colleen (Mark) Alphson, Forest River, ND; Coke (Tom) Tengwall, Spicer, MN; Cyndy (Jim) Scanlan, Bemidji, MN; Robert J. Woods, Forest River, ND; Cathy (Steve) Perkins, Spicer, MN. Ten grandchildren: Lisa (Steven) Schuster, Kristin (Ryan) Kasowski, Chris Tengwall, Erik Tengwall, Bri (Ben) Kinne, Jaclyn Scanlan, Joey Scanlan, Betsi (Jason) Arvin, John Perkins, and Nick Perkins. Great-grandchildren: Carter, Jaycee, and Henley Schuster, Kayson Kinne, Keeley Kasowski, Riley Jo Arvin and baby girl Arvin due in April. Margaret’s brothers: John (Arlene) Roe, Carl (JoAnn) Roe; sister: Joann Hop; sister-in-law: Irene (Russell) Roe, Jeanette (Robert) Roe, and Margaret M. (Bob) Woods. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant son: John Marvin, her parents, brothers: Russell and Robert and sister: OnaVee. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Forest River Park Cemetery or Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Faith, Family, Friends, and Forest River Mom is “Fine As Wine”. Mass of Christian Burial will be February 11, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Warsaw. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Forest River Park Cemetery in the spring.
