Luella M. Farrow, 98, of Cavalier, ND passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Luella Hodgson was born March 11, 1923, in rural Cavalier to John and Pearl (Switzer) Hodgson. She attended Cranley rural school and then graduated from Cavalier High School in 1941. After high school, she attended St. Michael’s Nursing School in Grand Forks. Luella served in World War II as a 1st LT Army nurse in the South Pacific from April 2, 1945 – January 24, 1947. Luella married Ray J. Farrow at the Cavalier Baptist Church on October 12, 1947. She worked at Pembina County Memorial Hospital and helped on the family farm. Luella enjoyed quilting, China painting, baking and sewing. She was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Luella was also a member of the Silver Haired Legislature, Laverne J Thompson Post #11-Cavalier American Legion, where she served as Commander, Adjutant, and also served on State and District committees. Charter Member of Cavalier Senior Citizens and she was also a North Dakota Barley Queen. Survivors include her children, David (Nola) Farrow of Auburn, WA, Catherine (Wayne) Erie of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Jean (Robert) Schroeder of Cavalier, ND; grandchildren: Natasha (Phil) Prather, Nichole (Harry) Whitaker, Adam (Dawn) Erie, Craig (Carrie) Erie, Scott Erie, Kristin (Pat) Kalahar, Jay (Caroline) Schroeder; great-grandchildren: Alexander, Zachary, and Madelyn Prather, Elsie Whitaker, Carson Erie and Hannah Erie, Marieda, Kiera and Brody Kalahar, Fiona Schroeder; sister, Reta Harless. Preceding her in death were her parents, twin daughters, husband Ray, brothers, Harvey and Roy. Luella always shared her love with family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Luella & her husband Ray worked with me in selling Bosch & Magic Mill equipment. What a wonderful team they were. I enjoyed their visits and their enthusiasm. Thinking about Luella's family and praying for them, for strength and comfort at this time.
