Lawrence R Schiernbeck

Lawrence (Larry) Schiernbeck was born on September 25th, 1944, in Omaha, NE and passed away on February 10th, 2025. The son of Wilbert and Elsie Schiernbeck, he lived in Omaha and Grand Island, NE, until settling in Park River, ND in 2010. Larry was a member of the Omaha Cathedral High School Class of 1962. He worked in the elevator repair trades for decades and was a member of the National Elevator Industry Union. Larry embraced the community of Park River and closely followed the Park River High School as well as UND athletics. In his final, selfless act, Larry was an organ donor and was able to help countless people.
Larry is survived by his children Jeff (Lynn) Schiernbeck, Julie and Jeff Priborsky, Dawn and Gary Bell. Grandchildren Jessica (Travis) Rodecker, Ashley Schiernbeck, Brennan Schiernbeck and Cody Schiernbeck. In addition, his stepchildren Christina Vander Tuig, Peter (Tiffany) Vander Tuig, Kaylee (Jeremy) Boyce, and their children. Larry also leaves behind many in laws from the Jelinek family: Patricia Karas, Loy (Ruth), Mary, Teresa (Bill) Brandt, Francis (Bonnie), Dominic, Carmel (Brian) Litton, Stephen (Irene), Bernadette and Germaine (Steve) Heller. 
Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 21 years Cynthia Schiernbeck, parents (Wilbert and Elsie), his Brother-in Law Lenny Jelinek, Sister-in-Law Judy Dunn and Step-Brother Tom Rose.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church in Pisek, ND.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery.
