Jon A. Kippen August 29, 1972 — April 7, 2026 Cavalier Jon A. Kippen, 53, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Unity Hospital in Grafton, ND. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church in Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services. Jon Alexander Kippen was born August 29, 1972, in Cavalier, ND to Robert D. and Marlys A. (Kapp) Kippen. He grew up in Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School in 1991. While in school, Jon was active in football, being selected to play in the ND Shrine Game, basketball where he was a member of the team that participated in the 1990 state tournament and played baseball. He then attended NDSU and the University of Minnesota, Crookston. He returned home to farm with his dad and brother and did over the road trucking. His true vocation was in the drain tile business. Jon was more than an exceptional salesman. He was a trusted colleague, a dedicated professional, and a person who brought integrity, warmth and genuine care to every relationship he built. His passion for drainage, water management, and improving farmland throughout the Red River Valley was truly unmatched, and it showed in the way he served both his customers and community. Things he enjoyed were snowmobiling and ATV rides. Video games and other activities with his nephews and niece were an important part of his life. Survivors include his brother, Robert (Stacy) Kippen, Horace, ND and family, Duncan Kippen, Austin (Harley) Skari and family, and Caitlyn (Zack) Dixon, sister, Mary (Todd) Morgan, Grafton, ND and family Boden, Eliza, Kipp, and Henry, half-sister, Kari (Steve) Files and son, Landon, Minot, ND. Preceding him in death were his parents.
