James D. Haug, age 80, of Grafton, ND passed away peacefully, Monday, February 2, 2026 at Maple View Memory Care of Grand Forks, with his daughters at his side. James “Jim” D. Haug was born April 7, 1945 to the late Edwin and Evelyn (Sondeland) Haug in Grafton, ND. He was raised and attended Grafton Public Schools. After graduation, he attended the University of North Dakota. Jim lived in Silver Bay and Thief River Falls, MN for many years working in the banking industry, as a lender. Jim and his family moved to Prior Lake, MN, where he owned and operated Jim’s Wholesale Auto Sales for 10 years. Jim returned to banking and worked in Florida and Arizona. He returned home to his roots in North Dakota to help care for his father. Jim enjoyed living his final years in Grafton, reconnecting with the community, family, and friends. Jim is survived by his children: Audrey (Arne) Bracchi, Sacramento, CA; Sonya (Roger) Herr, Mounds View, MN, and Brian (Kelly) Haug, Lady Lake, FL; son-in-law, Jeffrey Quiggle; grandchildren: Georgia, Ella, Rachel, Lauren, Hayden, Heather, Tyler, Ryan, and Eric; five great grandchildren; brother Jerry (Melanie) Haug, and sister-in-law, Joyce Haug. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Sheila Quiggle, and brother Kenneth Haug. Memorial Services will be on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton, ND Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Landstad Cemetery of Auburn, ND in the spring of 2026. Jim’s service will be livestreamed on the Tollefson Funeral Home website.
