Edith Einarson, age 90 of Grafton, ND and formerly Edinburg, ND passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2024 at the First Care Health Center of Park River. Edith McKay was born in South Olga Township, Cavalier County, North Dakota on the family farm to the late William and Armanda (Monnett) McKay. She attended country school in rural Milton. After her education she worked for area farmers. Edith united in marriage to Kenneth Gallaway in 1952 in Hallock, MN. They settled in Grafton where they raised their children. Kenneth passed away in 1990. Edith worked for Life Skills and Transition Center until her retirement in 1997. She moved to Washington State to spend time with children and grandchildren. Edith moved back to Grafton in 2008. She married Harold Einarson and they lived in Edinburg until his death in September of 2022. Edith loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed country music, country drives, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was a huge Matt Dillon fan and loved her episodes of Gunsmoke. Edith was a professional thrifter and garage sale connoisseur. Edith is survived by her children: David (Janie) Gallaway, Petersburg, ND, Daniel (Donna) Gallaway, Drayton, ND, Deb (Lloyd) Einarson, Edinburg, ND, Dennis (Elaine) Gallaway, Grafton, ND, Dawayne (Terri) Gallaway, Kennedy, MN, Darrell (Felicia) Gallaway, Helma, MN, Denise Pritchett, Grafton, ND, Darlene (Butch) Allum, Port Townsend, WA, Diana (D.J.) Hartje, Kilkenny, MN, Cathy Fulton, Port Townsend, WA, and Mark Gallaway, Grafton, ND; 46 grandchildren; 120 + great grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren; siblings: Ed McKay, John McKay, Willy McKay, and Rose Marie Radway; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Kenneth and Harold, daughter Donna Srnsky, granddaughter Courtney Fulton, infant grandson, grandson Gregory Gallaway, and brother Ralph McKay. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Grace Free Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Vang Cemetery of rural Walhalla, ND.
