![]() Donald Ordean Boe, age 91 of Adams, ND passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Santé of Mesa Rehab Facility in Arizona. His illness was sudden, and he was with his wife and children, Dawn and Gary in his final days. Donald was born June 20, 1933 at his farm home, the son of Ralph and Myrtle (Foyen) Boe. He attended Fairview School in rural Adams and four years at Walsh County Agriculture School in Park River, graduating in 1951. He attended NDAC (NDSU) short course in agriculture and was the first to get the course diploma. Donald served in the United States Army from 1953 – 1955, serving 18 months in Korea, upon his discharge he returned home and started farming with his father and family. He enjoyed sharing stories about his days in service and had a passion for American History. Donald married Dorothy Ellingson on February 22, 1957. They had three children Dawn, Gary, and Jon and raised them on the family farm. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golf, and playing cards. He loved music, especially old country music and yodeling the good stuff, he would say. Donald was a member of Adams Mountain Lutheran Church, a member of Qually-Dvorak American Legion, and served on Township, Elevator, and Church Boards. Starting in 1997, Donald and Dorothy wintered in Mesa, AZ. Donald is survived by his wife Dorothy of Adams; children: Dawn (Tim) Lundquist of Mahtomedi, MN and Gary (Karen) Boe of Adams, ND; eight grandchildren, four step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, two step great, great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Delores Boe of rural Adams, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, infant sister Lona, sister Marilyn, brother Rodie, brother-in-law Merle Daley, and son Jon David Boe. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Adams Mountain Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Vang Lutheran Cemetery in rural Adams. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial to Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and Vang Lutheran Cemetery.
