![]() Bonnie M. DuBois, age 70 of Lankin, ND passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at her home near Lankin surrounded by family. Bonnie May Borgeson was born May 18, 1949 to Maurice and Vera (Phair) Borgeson in Grafton, ND. She grew up on the family farm south west of Park River in the Pleasant Valley. She attended Park River School, and while attending, she was set up on a blind date, with Daniel DuBois. The two were married on June 3rd, 1965, at Augustana Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND. Dan and Bonnie were blessed with four children: Kimberly, Lisa, Michael and Christopher, that they raised on their farm west of Lankin. Bonnie and her family enjoyed the outdoors and camping, as every summer they had a camping trip ranging from Washington State to their backyard in Lankin. As Bonnie’s children grew up, she re-entered the workforce, where she worked for the Lankin School, Citizens State Bank and eventually started her own painting business with Dan in the summer and worked as a tax preparer during the winter. Bonnie’s list of hobbies could fill volumes and the planning of those hobbies actually did fill volumes. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and keeping flowerbeds. One of Bonnie’s greatest joys was traveling and seeing the mountains of Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana with Dan on their many trips and always had a picture to share of the beautiful scenery. Bonnie’s greatest pleasure was getting her own motorcycle, and since Dan would not let her drive his, she bought her own Harley. Bonnie is survived by her beloved husband Dan of 54 years. Children: Kimberly DuBois (Jeff Abel), Lisa (Gerald) Slaamod, Michael (Rique) DuBois and Christopher (Angela) DuBois. Grandchildren: Charlotte (Adam) Bruneau, Kenneth & Elizabeth Dueck, Dustin (Kelsey) Slaamod, Nathan Slaamod, Danielle & Devon DuBois and Christian & Dylan DuBois. Great Grandchildren: Drake Slaamod and coming soon Leia May-Marie Slaamod. Siblings: Terril (Elsie) Borgeson, Ronald (Debbie) Borgeson and Elizabeth (Jon) Barry. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Bonnie’s memory will live on in her family and friends as her faith in God will lead her home with those that predeceased her, including her parents, step-father Edwin Hjelvik, sister Janie Capp, nephew Bradley Capp, brothers-in-law: Olaf Johnson and Allen Smith and grandson Derrick DuBois. Memorial services will be Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:30 AM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
