Barbara A. Ault, 81, of Cavalier, ND, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019, at the Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla, ND. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation at the church for one hour before the time of services. Barbara Ann was born and raised in California. She was born on September 2, 1937, to Richard and Nettie Nolan. She and her daughter, Mary Noel, came to ND when she married Merle Ault on August 20, 1966. They made their home in Cavalier, running Ault’s Hartz Superette grocery store. Barb was the Pembina Country Larger Parish secretary for many years. As a member of the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, she served as a Deacon and as a Member of the Session. Her faith grew and she became a Commissioned Lay Pastor, ministering to many area churches including Cavalier, Walhalla and Milton. She enjoyed time as the Moderator of the Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery. Barb also worked for the United States Government as a year round Census Case Worker. During that time she enjoyed meeting many people. She was a people person, always having a quick smile, and time to visit for everyone. Her family was her greatest treasure. She cherished every picture, call, and visit. Barb loved being around her family and listening to their stories and laughter. There was nothing she would not do for them and she was quick to show her love. Barb is survived by her husband, Merle Ault, their daughter, Noel, and son-in-law, Daryl Watson, all of Cavalier. Her grandsons, their wives, and her great-granddaughters are Nick and Becky Watson- Rylee and Reegan, Joe Watson- Adrianna, Amaya, and Meelah, all of Grand Forks. Jordan and Natasha Watson- Ellie, of Cavalier; Barb’s loving siblings are Richard and Sharon Nolan, Dennis Nolan, of AZ, and Bill and Mary Nolan Winkler, of NM. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Nettie Nolan, great-grandson Conner Alexander Watson, and sister-in-law Pam Nolan.
