Aurelia J. Byzewski, 98, formerly of Manvel, ND died September 26th, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Larimore, ND. Aurelia Joanne Czapiewski was born February 10, 1921, the daughter of Ferdinand and Joanna (Ebertowski) Czapiewski in Walshville Township, Walsh County ND. She attended school at District 86 in Walsh County and St Anthony’s Academy in Warsaw, ND. During the course of her life she was employed at H E Everson and S & L Department Store both of Grafton ND, Grayco Co., Minneapolis, MN, St Michael’s Hospital, Deaconess Hospital and Griffith’s Department Store all of Grand Forks, ND and the Pendleton Company, Omaha, NE. During WWII, she was employed by Electronic Development Co., The Foreign Missions of Omaha and Folgers Coffee, all in Omaha, NE. She was also employed in civil service for three years printing books for the US Government in Omaha. Upon returning to Grand Forks, she was employed at Singer Sewing Machine Co. and JC Penneys. Aurelia married Adam J. Byzewski November 23, 1955 at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks. They lived in Manvel their entire life where she was a housewife and loving mother. She moved in with her daughter in 2005 and then to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Larimore, in 2009. She was an active member of St Timothy’s Catholic Church, Manvel. She will be remembered by all for her baking and cooking but most of all for her kindness and compassion to all that met her. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Leona Czapiewski, Grand Forks ND; step-grandchildren, Sean and Kim; two great-step grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; her daughter, Anne and son-in-law, Garrie Etherton; her parents; brothers, Billy, Edward, Florian, Dominic and infant brother John; her sisters, Florence Rogalla, Henrietta (Hetty) Pappas and Bernice Czapiewski. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, in St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Manvel, ND. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and 7:00 p.m. vigil service at the Historic Norman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Thursday. Burial: Calvary North Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND.
