Alberto R Lopez

Alberto R. Lopez, Sr., age 76 of Grafton, ND passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Alberto Lopez Sr. was born July 1, 1947 in Grafton, ND, the oldest of 10 children born to Maximilliano and Manuela (Ramirez) Lopez.  He began working as a farm laborer at the age of 12.  He was united in marriage to Patricia Ramirez in 1968.  The couple migrated from Carrizo Springs, TX where he was employed as a butcher to Glasston, ND, then St. Thomas, ND where they raised their 5 children.  They later moved to Grafton.
Alberto enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.  He enjoyed hunting and attending various local car shows and grilling.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Lopez; chidren: Alberto Lopez Jr. (Connie), Roberto Lopez Sr. (Robin), Gilberto Lopez, Irma Moran (Paul) and Delicia Glaze.  Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren with one on the way; along with numerous members of his extended family-the ones that chose to adopt him and Patricia as a parent or grandparent.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Grafton.  Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery of Grafton.
